Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste Wine Dinner

A Great Classic

Nestled in the heart of Pauillac, Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste has been classified as a Fifth Grand Cru Classé since 1855. Since 1978, it has belonged to the Borie family, who breathed new life into the estate while preserving its very special soul. The vineyard spans ninety hectares around the Château, sixty-four of which are planted — and unusually for a Grand Cru Classé, the plots have remained identical to the land register of the time.

The blend is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and Cabernet Franc, rooted in deep gravel soils that compel the vines to extend their roots in search of water and nutrients. The result is a wine described as "a great classic," with a beautiful, deep color and aromas that are very pure, complex, subtle, and refined.
