2020 Ferran Blanc 75CL
|
TASTING NOTES: Wine Rating: RP 90-92 points Drink by: 2023 - 2030 The 2020 Ferran Blanc is a blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Sémillon, weighing in at around 13% alcohol. It skips out of the glass with cheery notes of fresh pineapple, white peaches and lemon tart, plus touches of lime leaves and grapefruit peel. The light to medium-bodied palate is elegantly styled and refreshing, delivery bags of bright citrusy flavors and a chalky finish. |
"Since Robert de Ferran, solicitor at the Bordeaux Parliament, who gave his name to this exceptional vineyard, and Montesquieu, philosopher winegrower, owner of the domaine in the 18th century, this terroir has always produced red and white wines which were then known as “Premiers graves Martillac”.
The property has belonged to an old Bordelais family since 1880, and today the descendants of Joseph Beraud-Sudreau, Philippe and Ghislane Lacoste, have been managing the estate since 1999. A lot of work has been done in recent years to restructure the vineyard and renovate the cellars. This quickly resulted in numerous medals and good scores given by French, British and American wine writers.
