Chateau Moulin Saint Georges has a long history in the Saint Emilion appellation. However, the modern era for the estate starts in 1921 when it was purchased by the Vauthier family. The 7-hectare, Right Bank vineyard of Chateau Moulin Saint Georges is planted to 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The terroir of Chateau Moulin Saint Georges is clay over limestone soils with western exposures. The vines are on average, 25 years of age. The vineyard is planted to a vine density of 5,500 vines per hectare. The vineyard has gentle slopes that rise up to 25 meters in elevation. On average, Chateau Moulin Saint Georges produces close to 3,000 cases of wine per year.
