2012 Pavie Decesse 75CL
TASTING NOTES:
Unfortunately, the production of Pavis Decesse is minuscule, as a large section of the vineyard was incorporated into Pavie. This wine, with its opaque purple color and great density and richness, is a connoisseur’s dream. Forget it for 5-8 years and drink it over the following three decades. |
Although Pavie Decesses's reputation exists in the shadow of its glorious older sibling, Château Pavie it is nonetheless treated with the same respect. Purchased by Gérard Perse in 1997 (one year before he bought Château Pavie) situated on the limestone plateau of Saint-Emilion, Pavie-Decesse is one of the "happy few” Saint-Emilion Grands Crus Classés.
Enjoying the same attention as Château Pavie, whose terroir it essentially shares, Pavie-Decesse achieves a consistency of quality which is the definition of a Great Growth.
