2014 Poujeaux 75CL
TASTING NOTES:
The palate is quite structured with rather dry tannins, moderate weight but attenuating towards the pinched finish. This showed better in the barrel and so hopefully it will improve in bottle. It just seems a bit "lost" at the moment. Tasted twice with consistent notes. |
With a winemaking history dating to the 19th century, Château Poujeaux can be considered a "young" estate in Bordeaux but has earned a reputation in its own right. French President Georges Pompidou was a particular fan or the Moulis-en-Medoc estate and was known to serve it at the Elysée Palace.
Today, the Cuvelier family, owners of Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Clos Fourtet, have acquired the Château, injecting a new passion and energy into winemaking at the estate.
