2014 Phelan Segur 75CL
TASTING NOTES:
This segues into a well-balanced middle with well-judged acidity, crisp black fruit infused with graphite and a touch of sea salt towards the finish. It might not quite have the finesse of the top Saint Estèphe's, but there is clearly decent length and energy here. Tasted twice with consistent notes. |
Proudly overlooking the Gironde Estuary since the early 19th century, the vineyards of Château Phelan Segur are divided into four distinct parcels. The complexity of Phelan Segur wines can be attributed to the great diversity of its terroir in Saint-Estèphe where power dominates. Its 70 hectares of vines are planted with 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Merlot.
Phelan Segur wines are famous for their elegance, finesse, and balance while the Château itself is famous for its incredible hospitality. They are witnesses to the life of the property and the expression of great emotions.
