2016 Ferran Blanc 75CL
TASTING NOTES: Wine Rating: RP 88-90 points Drink by: 2018 - 2024 The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp acidity, fine tension with a pleasant salinity towards the finish. Whilst not a bumper year for dry white Bordeaux, this is a very commendable effort and is worth checking out. |
"Since Robert de Ferran, solicitor at the Bordeaux Parliament, who gave his name to this exceptional vineyard, and Montesquieu, philosopher winegrower, owner of the domaine in the 18th century, this terroir has always produced red and white wines which were then known as “Premiers graves Martillac”.
The property has belonged to an old Bordelais family since 1880, and today the descendants of Joseph Beraud-Sudreau, Philippe and Ghislane Lacoste, have been managing the estate since 1999. A lot of work has been done in recent years to restructure the vineyard and renovate the cellars. This quickly resulted in numerous medals and good scores given by French, British and American wine writers.
