2002 Delamotte Blanc De Blancs 75CL
TASTING NOTES: Wine Rating: RP 94 points Drink by: N/A Already in the nose, hints of walnut and pistachio oils point toward the bittersweet, subtly smoky, faintly toasty aspect of a bottling that at the same time harbors pure and succulent apple and pear wreathed in heliotrope. |
"When François Delamotte – a vineyard owner in Reims – founded the House in 1760, could he ever have imagined that his champagne would still be gracing our tables three centuries later? Hidden away in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Delamotte continues the tradition started by its founder. Champagnes produced with bold simplicity. They owe their subtlety to the Côte des Blancs. This terroir draws forth a rich balance from the powerful, airy Chardonnays.
If Delamotte is one of the five oldest champagne houses, it is because they respect the traditions, they are dedicated to flavour and they craft their wines in the heart of the legendary Côte des Blancs terroir. Their location is one of the richest assets of Delamotte. Delamotte is all about claiming this terroir, drawing the best from it with complete respect for the vines and the environment."
