2018 Ferran Blanc 75CL
Wine Rating: RP 91+ points
Drink by: 2022 - 2029
Ferran's 2018 Blanc sings of fresh pineapple, pink grapefruit and sea spray, with touches of wild sage, white pepper and struck flint.
The medium-bodied palate delivers fantastic freshness and wonderfully pure citrus flavors with a long chalky finish.
"Since Robert de Ferran, solicitor at the Bordeaux Parliament, who gave his name to this exceptional vineyard, and Montesquieu, philosopher winegrower, owner of the domaine in the 18th century, this terroir has always produced red and white wines which were then known as “Premiers graves Martillac”.
The property has belonged to an old Bordelais family since 1880, and today the descendants of Joseph Beraud-Sudreau, Philippe and Ghislane Lacoste, have been managing the estate since 1999. A lot of work has been done in recent years to restructure the vineyard and renovate the cellars. This quickly resulted in numerous medals and good scores given by French, British and American wine writers.
