2015 Le Clementin De Pape Clement Rouge 75CL
The 2015 Le Clementin du Pape Clement is medium garnet-purple colored with a warm plums, mulberries and earth-scented nose with a touch of dried herbs. Medium-bodied and firm with good tension and grip, it finishes long and fruity.
Château Pape Clément is one of the oldest properties in Bordeaux. The vineyard was first planted in the 13th century by Bertrand de Goth, the youngest son of a noble family from Bordeaux. He was the Archbishop of Bordeaux and became Pope in 1305, then took the name of Clément V.
At the turn of the 1980s, Bernard Magrez, a passionate wine entrepreneur, took the reins at the Château and was to give this grand cru classé an unprecedented international aura. In 1985, he marked the definitive return to high-level production, by now further enhanced by the talents of the famous consulting oenologist, Michel Rolland. The Clémentin de Pape Clément Rouge is the second red wine of the estate.
