2015 Latour Martillac Rouge 75CL
The 2015 La Tour Martillac is a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot matured in 40% new French oak. It has a slightly more high-toned and outgoing bouquet, with dark cherries and blackcurrant aromas, a smidgen of cassis emerging with time in the glass.
The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a pleasant saltiness here, very focused with a finish of real pedigree. This is a superb Pessac-Léognan from the estate – one of the best in recent years. Drink 2021 – 2045
Thanks to the long involvement of generations of the Kressmann family, and the recognition shown in 1953 by the classification of Graves, the wines of Château Latour-Martillac feature among the best of Pessac-Léognan.
The best lots from the best parcels are chosen each year to integrate into the blending of the first wines for both red and white wines. This stringent selection is driven by the direction of Loïc Kressmann and their winemaker, Valérie Vialard, with the help of one of the most renowned consultants in Bordeaux, Professor Denis Dubourdieu.
