2011 La Gravette De Certan 75CL
Reveals attractive spicy, cherry fruit, light to medium body, good roundness and softness, and a character not unlike its bigger sibling, just not as concentrated or dense. Drink it over the next decade.
La Gravette de Certan is the second wine of Vieux Château Certan, one of the most prestigious estates in Pomerol. The 14 hectare vineyard is located on the plateau of Pomerol and is an average of 35 years old. The soil is a mixture of gravel, clay and sand on an ancient plateau which contains a high content of “crasse de fer” (iron oxide). Vinification and maturation process of La Gravette de Certan are the same as for producing the “Grand Vin” of Vieux Château Certan.
