The origin of the estate dates back to 1638. At that time, Léoville was the largest domain in the Médoc. Since then, it has been fragmented over time and generations. The legacy of the Grand Vin of Léoville Poyferré began in 1840, consecrated as a Second Classified Growth fifteen years later. Didier Cuvelier has presided over the destiny of this gem since 1979. "For over a century we have been the inheritors of a unique terroir: a heritage that is both a privilege and a responsibility. This responsibility is at the very heart of our environmental consciousness, in the ever-changing landscape of the world.
