Composed of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, the medium garnet-purple colored 2015 Lespault-Martillac has expressive red berry preserves, cherry cordial and potpourri notes with a waft of garrigue and black soil. The medium-bodied palate is taut, muscular and firm with plenty of layers and great length.

Château Lespault-Martillac is an ancient estate located on a fine gravelly rise overlooking the commune of Martillac. Since 2009, management has been entrusted to Domaine de Chevalier, a Graves great growth belonging to the Bernard family. Olivier Bernard has a clear ambition: to realise the Château’s outstanding potential and its aim of becoming one of the jewels of the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The goal from the very start was to make great wine thanks to Lespault-Martillac’s truly outstanding terroir and its old Merlot vines with low yields of superb fruit.

To take advantage of these assets, the same principles were applied at the heart of the winemaking philosophy at Domaine de Chevalier: traditional viticultural practices inspired by biodynamics and constant observation in the vineyard to make the best choices in light of weather conditions during the growing season.
