2020 Samion 75CL
TASTING NOTES:
|
Brothers Jeff and Olivier Berrouet are the artisans behind the family’s vineyards. Their story began in the 1970s, when their father, Jean-Claude Berrouet—who managed the Moueix family vineyards until 2007—embarked on the Vignobles Berrouet venture.
Château Samion is produced in limited quantity from their modest 1.2-hectare holdings in Lalande-de-Pomerol. The first vintage was released in 1979, but it was only in 1985 that the Berrouet family finally owned the property. The vines, now averaging 45 years in age, contribute depth and complexity to the wines. Crafted exclusively from 100% Merlot, Samion is made with the same meticulous care and methods employed at Château Pétrus.
