The 2014 Petit Village was an odd showing. It felt a little disjointed at first, the wood component not as fully subsumed into the fruit as its Pomerol peers.
The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, fleshy in the mouth with black pepper and leather infusing the dark berry fruit, a hint of soy on the frustratingly abrupt finish. I am seeking more vivacity and precision here, a little more charm. I will seek to re-evaluate this at a later point. This was tasted twice with consistent notes.

Château Petit-Village is a great wine that is faithful to its exceptional terroir. Today, the extensive restructuring of the vineyard and renovation of the cellars serve to optimize the potential given by the use of traditional vineyard working techniques.
