The famous Dourthe firm produces this well-known St.-Estèphe, which often has a big chunk of Merlot in it. The 2012 Le Boscq is a dense ruby/purple wine with good flesh, ripe black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, medium body, light tannin and a nice lusty, heady finish. This is a relatively sexy wine that will develop nicely over the next 10-12 years.

The first wine, Château le Boscq Cru Bourgeois, is a St-Estephe wine bursting with character, which elegantly combines the power of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, with the Merlot’s finesse, which is unusual for the appellation. Delicate and well-balanced, it has great ageing potential.
